SIDiLV Congress addresses veterinary diagnostics in Lecce

The XXIV National Congress of the Italian Society of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostics (SIDiLV) is being held in Lecce from September 23 to 25. Organized in collaboration with the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Puglia and Basilicata (IZSPB), the event focuses on the evolution of veterinary diagnostics as a tool for public health.

Scientific sessions will address the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. Key topics include food safety, zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, climate change, vector-borne diseases, and diagnostic innovation. Antonio Fasanella, Director General of the IZSPB, noted that veterinary diagnostics is now an integral part of public health, moving beyond simple diagnosis to intercepting risks and providing knowledge to strengthen prevention.
