Sidney Starr denied bond in alleged child sexual assault case
A Fulton County judge has denied bond for reality television personality Sidney Starr, also known as Sidney Favors, following her arrest for the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy. Starr faces felony charges including aggravated child molestation, sexual battery against a child under 16, and sodomy.
During the court hearing, the victim’s mother provided emotional testimony regarding the trauma her son has endured, stating he now requires intensive therapy. The defense argued for Starr’s release, citing her “good nature,” lack of a serious criminal record, and strong community ties as evidence that she is not a flight risk.
However, the judge ruled that Starr could pose a danger to others and a flight risk. Concerns were also raised that her significant social media presence could be used to interfere with witnesses. Investigators testified that Starr admitted to sexual contact with a minor, whom she referred to as “Larry,” during an encounter at the Embassy Suites hotel in Hapeville.
