Sidoarjo Deputy Regent leads raid on karaoke venues

Deputy Regent Mimik Idayana of Sidoarjo, together with Satpol PP, local police, and other officials, carried out a coordinated raid on several karaoke bars and a café on the former HK Toll Road in the Jabon district on 4 July 2026. The operation resulted in the detention of dozens of women who were working as low‑cost entertainers, the confiscation of numerous bottles of alcohol, and the collection of personal data and DNA samples from the detainees. The team also inspected nearby establishments, seizing additional liquor supplies and equipment used for diluting drinks. Officials reported that the raid responded to complaints from village heads about illicit activities and aimed to restore public order in the area.

The operation involved the Deputy Regent, the head of Satpol PP, senior police officers, and local community leaders. Those arrested were taken to the Jabon sub‑district office for processing. The raid concluded with the seizure of empty liquor cartons, glassware, and other evidence, while some venue owners resisted but were eventually compliant.
