Sidoarjo Regent announces food security and infrastructure initiatives

Sidoarjo Regent Subandi has announced several regional development initiatives focused on food security, public health, and infrastructure. To support the national ‘Free Nutritious Meal’ (MBG) program, the Sidoarjo Regency Government is forming a task force to oversee Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG). This oversight will monitor the entire process from food ingredient procurement and processing to packaging and distribution to ensure food safety and quality standards.

In support of national food security goals set by President Prabowo Subianto, the Sidoarjo Regency Government will provide budget support for the construction of a ‘Kompi Produksi’ by Kodim 0816/Sidoarjo. The project will utilize 7 hectares of TNI AD land in Sawotratap Village, Gedangan, to engage in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, construction, and health sectors.

Additionally, infrastructure and healthcare improvements are planned for the Sedati district. The construction of the Sedati Regional General Hospital (RSUD) is targeted for completion in 2027, with local residents prioritized for medical staff recruitment. Road concreting projects are also scheduled, beginning with Jalan Kalanganyar and Juanda in 2027, followed by the Kwangsan–Pepe route between 2028 and 2029.
