Sidoarjo launches gas network program for 7,223 households
The Sidoarjo Regency government has inaugurated a new gas network (jargas) program in Desa Kalipecabean, Candi District, providing 7,223 free household connections across the Waru and Candi areas.
Bupati Subandi reported that the transition from LPG cylinders to the gas network can reduce household energy expenditures by up to 40 percent. While typical LPG costs range from Rp60,000 to Rp65,000 per month, the gas network costs approximately Rp30,000 to Rp35,000. The inauguration was attended by the Chief of Staff to the President of Indonesia, Dudung Abdurachman.
Following this implementation, the Sidoarjo regional government plans to propose an expansion of the program to the Krian area, including Tropodo, which would encompass an additional 10,500 household connections.
