Sidoarjo Regency Seizes Over 2,300 Illegal Alcohol Bottles in Crackdown
On the night of 1 August 2026, Sidoarjo Regency authorities carried out simultaneous raids in 18 sub‑districts, seizing 1,696 bottles of illegal alcoholic beverages. The operation involved the local Forkopimda, Forkopimka, Satpol PP, the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri) and all sub‑district heads. The largest haul, 851 bottles, was found in a shop disguised as a vape outlet.
A day earlier, on 31 July 2026, Bupati H. Subandi SH MKn led a surprise inspection that closed three retail kiosks in the KNV housing area and confiscated another 624 bottles. The officials said the sellers were operating with distributor licences, which do not permit retail sales, and were offering high‑alcohol content drinks (above 20%). Subandi warned that further inspections will continue and urged residents to report illegal sales.
