Sidrap middle school student reported to police following bullying incident

A middle school student at SMP Negeri 1 Rappang in Sidrap, South Sulawesi, has been the victim of organized bullying involving a group of classmates. The incident occurred in a classroom during a break on Friday, October 9.

The head of the school, Rahmat Perdana, confirmed the incident, noting that the perpetrators included students from different grade levels, specifically grades VII and IX. The school stated that the bullying stemmed from a misunderstanding and conflicting stories among students.

Reports indicate that the victim was allegedly targeted by approximately 10 classmates, who reportedly threw meal containers at her. Following the incident, the victim's family has filed a formal report with the police to seek justice. The school has initiated mediation efforts to address the situation.
