Siemens and Lightwheel AI team up to boost industrial robot simulation
During the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Chinese AI firm Lightwheel Intelligent announced a partnership with German industrial technology giant Siemens. The collaboration will integrate Siemens' long‑standing industrial simulation knowledge with Lightwheel's SimFoundry platform, creating a full‑stack pipeline that converts high‑precision engineering models into physical‑AI assets for robot training, testing and deployment. The joint effort aims to establish a continuous learning loop—simulation, large‑scale evaluation (RoboFinals), pilot verification and real‑world deployment (RoboStack)—to reduce factory downtime, cut trial‑and‑error costs and accelerate the rollout of robots on production lines.
At the same time, industry observers note that the broader push toward Physical AI is confronting a data‑infrastructure bottleneck, especially in life‑science applications. Chinese company MgGa Technology is redesigning laboratory automation to generate the massive, high‑quality experimental data AI systems need, moving beyond tools built for human operators. The firm’s new PCE (Perception‑Conception‑Execution) architecture seeks to close the gap between AI hypothesis generation and physical experiment execution, highlighting the growing importance of specialized infrastructure for AI‑driven scientific research.
