Siemens binaural hearing aid featured on ‘Bares für Rares’
On the ZDF show ‘Bares für Rares’, siblings Margrit Fekeler and Dieter Jesper presented a family heirloom: a binaural hearing aid that belonged to their grandfather.
Expert Sven Deutschmanek identified the device as a likely Siemens product, estimated to have been manufactured between 1910 and 1915. The metal device was designed to function for both ears using small funnels to capture sound. While the siblings had set a minimum asking price of 50 euros, the expert noted that the device's effectiveness is limited by its small funnels compared to modern technology.
