Siemens closes Nuremberg‑Moorenbrunn site and auctions 1,400 office items

Siemens AG is shutting down its Moorenbrunn location on the southeastern edge of Nuremberg after more than 40 years of operation. The site, which housed the Digital Industries headquarters since 1985, will be vacated and its inventory – roughly 1,400 pieces of furniture, equipment and miscellaneous items – is being sold online via Restlos.com. Bids start at one euro, with some electronics fetching up to 90 euros. The auction runs until Thursday, 6 August 2026, with pick‑up scheduled for 12‑14 August.

Around 1,600 employees from the Moorenbrunn plant have already moved to Siemens’ Erlangen campus, while another 400 are transferring to a production and development site in Fürth. The consolidation aims to bring about 20,000 staff onto the Erlangen campus, streamlining Siemens’ German operations.
