Siemens delivers autotransformer to Monagas for Venezuelan grid

Siemens is transporting a new autotransformer to the El Furrial 400/230 kV substation in the Monagas state of Venezuela. This move is part of a strategic effort by the National Electric Corporation (Corpoelec) to strengthen the electrical infrastructure in the eastern region of the country.

The deployment is part of a broader plan to recover the National Electric System (SEN), which aims to incorporate 1,300 megawatts of thermoelectric energy by the end of the year. Additionally, Venezuelan authorities are pursuing legislative reforms to allow private sector participation in energy generation, transmission, and distribution, with the goal of adding 7,400 MW in the medium term through international alliances.
