Siemens expands Saskatoon R&D hub, adds 100 AI jobs

Siemens announced a major expansion of its research and development centre in Saskatoon, adding 10,000 square feet at the Innovation Saskatchewan Research and Technology Park and bringing the site to roughly 45,000 square feet. The expansion will create up to 100 new highly skilled positions over the next two years, increasing the local workforce from about 300 to 400 employees. The new roles focus on software engineering, AI research and customer‑application expertise to support advanced semiconductor and artificial‑intelligence chip‑design software.

Senior vice‑president Amit Gupta highlighted the global demand for AI‑enabled electronic design automation, while Premier Scott Moe praised the investment as a vote of confidence in Saskatchewan’s innovation ecosystem. The hub builds on long‑standing collaboration with the University of Saskatchewan and provincial innovation agencies, reinforcing the province’s position as a key node in Siemens’ global AI and digital‑twin strategy.
