Siemens Healthineers focuses on four clinical areas in Türkiye

Siemens Healthineers CEO Nalan Abdullahoğlu has announced the company’s strategic focus on four priority clinical areas: cancer, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and neurodegenerative diseases. This strategy, part of the “Elevating health globally” initiative, emphasizes preventive approaches, early diagnosis, and health literacy to improve patient outcomes.

In Türkiye, the health technology market has reached 1.5 billion euros, with radiological imaging accounting for approximately 300 million euros. Abdullahoğlu noted that Siemens Healthineers provides about 60 percent of MRI machines and 50 percent of CT scanners in the country.

While the number of imaging devices per capita in Türkiye is lower than the OECD average of 50 to 51, the intensity of use is high. Abdullahoğlu highlighted that hospital equipment in Türkiye is generally newer than in Europe, with an average age limit of 13 years compared to 20 years in some European countries. Additionally, AI-supported software is increasing efficiency, reducing MRI scan times from 1.5 hours to 30 minutes.
