Siemens launches Intelligence Center X agentic AI platform
Siemens Digital Industries Software has launched ‘Intelligence Center X’ (ICX) in the South Korean market, a new enterprise agentic system designed to support the adoption of AI in manufacturing. The platform aims to bridge the gap between AI pilot projects and actual business profitability, addressing issues such as lack of context, disconnected actions, and poor governance.
ICX operates within a company’s security perimeter, reading data directly from its source without requiring external duplication. The system consists of three core layers: ‘Graph Studio’, which connects structured and unstructured data from ERP, MES, and PLM systems to create enterprise ontologies; ‘AI Studio’, which manages the agent lifecycle from planning to verification; and ‘Mendix’, which facilitates seamless collaboration between humans and AI agents.
Siemens is targeting key manufacturing sectors, including memory semiconductors, batteries, displays, shipbuilding, mobility, and steel. During a press conference in Seoul, Siemens executives noted that while global AI investment is surging, only about 6% of companies have seen actual increases in revenue, often due to AI tools failing to integrate into organizational workflows.
