Siemens Mobility signs 1 billion euro rail deal with VinSpeed

Siemens Mobility has entered into a contract worth approximately 1 billion euros with VinSpeed to support two high-speed railway projects in Vietnam: the Hanoi - Quang Ninh (Ha Long) route and the Ben Thanh - Can Gio route.

Under the agreement, Siemens Mobility will provide 10 Velaro Novo high-speed trains, along with signaling, electrification, communication, and system integration services. VinSpeed will be responsible for project development, track construction, and civil infrastructure.

The Hanoi - Ha Long line, spanning roughly 120 km through Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh, is designed for a maximum speed of 350 km/h. Once operational, the travel time between Hanoi and Ha Long is expected to drop to approximately 23 minutes, significantly reducing the current two-hour road journey.
