Siemens Mobility to build locomotive service center in Poland

Siemens Mobility has announced the construction of a modern locomotive service center in Gądki, near Poznań, Poland. The 4,300-square-meter facility is designed to provide comprehensive light and heavy maintenance for up to seven locomotives simultaneously.

The site will feature over five kilometers of electrified tracks and advanced technical infrastructure, including an underfloor wheel lathe, a wash facility, and systems for replacing bogies and wheelsets. Notably, the center is planned to operate with CO2-neutral emissions.

This investment is a key component of Siemens Mobility’s European strategy to enhance regional service capabilities and maintain high fleet availability. The company has operated in Poland for 35 years and has provided locomotive maintenance services locally for 15 years, supporting models such as Vectron and Eurosprinter.
