Siemens powers autonomous e-bike charging stations by Make4Green
Siemens is providing control systems for new autonomous e-bike charging stations developed by the Czech startup Make4Green. These multifunctional stations are designed to be entirely energy self-sufficient, utilizing a combination of solar panels and wind turbines to operate without connection to the electrical grid.
One of the new stations has been installed on a cycling route connecting Vyšší Brod with Reichenthal, Austria. The station can serve up to four e-bikes simultaneously. Following testing in the Czech Republic and the Austrian Alps, the technology is already in use in Italy and Switzerland, with plans to expand to San Marino. Siemens utilizes its SIMATIC S7-1200 G2 control system to manage energy consumption and connect individual stations into a unified network.
