Siena announces holiday program featuring Francesco Gabbani

The City of Siena has announced the ‘Siena Incanta – Il Natale si accende’ program, a series of holiday events scheduled from November 28 to January 10. The festivities will begin with the lighting of holiday decorations on November 28 at 5:00 PM, including new streets such as via Montanini and via Pantaneto to support local commerce.

Key highlights of the program include an expanded ‘Mercato nel Campo,’ which will run for five days from December 4 to December 8. The cultural calendar features major exhibitions at Palazzo Pubblico and Santa Maria della Scala, covering themes ranging from Saint Catherine of Siena to Julian Lennon. To celebrate New Year’s Eve, Francesco Gabbani will perform a concert in Piazza del Campo.

Mayor Nicoletta Fabio stated that the initiative aims to provide a diverse cultural offering for families and international tourists while leveraging Siena’s UNESCO World Heritage status. Officials noted that the program is designed to increase tourism flows and economic development while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
