Siena Grima tops Sydney apprentices premiership after Perfect Justice win

John Sargent’s horse Perfect Justice won the Midway Handicap over 1,600 metres, beating The Mona Lisa by a long neck. Jockey Siena Grima rode the winner, securing her 31st metropolitan victory for the 2025/26 season and moving into the lead of the Sydney apprentices premiership with five meetings remaining. Grima said the win put her in a strong position to become only the fourth female apprentice to claim the title. Trainer Sargent noted the horse handled the wet track well and that the blinkers helped focus him.

In the same race meeting, Alysha Collett rode Leovanni to victory in the TAB Highway Plate, edging favourite Moon Sweeper and finishing ahead of Red Rags To Bulls.
