Siena Immigration Office relocation proposed by Fratelli d’Italia
The Fratelli d’Italia (FdI) provincial coordination in Siena is calling for the immediate relocation of the Questura’s Immigration Office to a state-owned building in via Aretina. This follows protests by State Police unions regarding the current facility's inadequate conditions.
According to FdI, the existing premises fail to provide safe or dignified working conditions for operators. Furthermore, the office lacks a proper waiting area, forcing vulnerable individuals, including children and the elderly, to wait on the street near a dangerous blind curve.
While a long-term project for a new police headquarters is underway, FdI argues that bureaucratic delays necessitate an interim solution. They propose using the via Aretina property, currently occupied by the Arci Due Ponti club, as the most suitable immediate response to ensure both officer safety and the rights of migrants.
