Siena implements new beverage restrictions at Artemio Franchi Stadium

The Municipality of Siena has issued a new ordinance regulating the sale and consumption of beverages at the Artemio Franchi Stadium for the 2026/2027 football season, including Coppa Italia matches. Signed by Mayor Nicoletta Fabio following requests from public security authorities, the measure aims to ensure the peaceful conduct of matches while balancing public interest and economic activity.

Under the new rules, vendors in public areas and the covered tribune refreshment point are prohibited from selling or serving alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content exceeding 5% ABV. Additionally, the sale of any beverage in glass or cans for takeout is banned, and spectators are prohibited from bringing beverages in glass, plastic, or metal containers into the stadium.

Exceptions apply to beverages served on-site when accompanied by food, a rule that extends to hospitality and buffet areas. These restrictions are strictly limited to the stadium premises from opening until the conclusion of each match; businesses located in areas external to the stadium are not subject to these limitations.
