Siena parish completes energy requalification project

The Beato Bernardo Tolomei Parish in Siena has completed an energy requalification project to improve sustainability and community comfort. Supported by the “EnergEtici” initiative, the project was funded through a €25,000 grant from the Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena, contributing to a total project cost of €42,000.

The upgrades include the installation of a photovoltaic system with storage on the church roof. This system powers a new climate control unit utilizing heat pumps to provide both heating and cooling. The improvements aim to mitigate the impact of rising summer temperatures, which had previously made attending services difficult, particularly for elderly parishioners. The project also seeks to reduce the parish's overall energy expenses through more eco-responsible consumption.
