Siena to celebrate centenary of Vico Alto reservoir

The City of Siena and Acquedotto del Fiora will hold a joint commemorative ceremony on September 25 to celebrate the centenary of the Vico Alto reservoir. As one of the most historically significant water infrastructures for the Siena territory, the event aims to honor the site's historical and scientific heritage.

The program includes historical insights from Benedetto Bargagli Petrucci, followed by institutional speeches from Siena Mayor Nicoletta Fabio and Acquedotto del Fiora President Roberto Renai. A commemorative plaque marking the 1926–2026 period will be unveiled to highlight the connection between water availability, urban growth, and community well-being. The event will conclude with a press tour of the facility's interior.
