Sienna Toohey wins two individual medals and relay gold at Commonwealth Games

Seventeen‑year‑old Australian swimmer Sienna Toohey captured a silver medal in the 50‑metre breaststroke and a bronze in the 100‑metre breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She also swam the breaststroke leg of the Australian 4 × 100 m medley relay, helping the team set a Games record of 3:54.25 to win gold.

Toohey, a member of Albury Swimming Club and a student at Albury High School, trains under AIS coach Shannon Rollason in the ACT while also receiving support from her local coach Teigan Shirley. Her teammates described her as an inspiration for athletes from regional towns.
