Siero Folk Festival Showcases Chilean, Mallorcan and Andalusian Groups

The international Folklore Festival of Siero, known as "María Campo," held a vibrant street parade featuring five ensembles from Chile, Mallorca, Málaga and the local community. The Chilean Ballet Folclórico Municipal de Angol performed traditional dances and music, marking their first visit to Asturias. Mallorcan Cultural Group "Brocalet" attracted attention with distinctive traditional costumes, while the municipal folk group from Vélez‑Málaga added Andalusian flavor with castanets, singers and guitars. Local Asturian groups El Cuélebre and El Piñote accompanied the international acts, culminating in a performance at the Auditorio. The event celebrated the Festival of the Virgin of Carmen and attracted numerous residents and visitors.
