Sierra Chica inmates produce 10,000 pastries for Children's Day

Inmates at the Sierra Chica Unit 2 of the Buenos Aires Provincial Penitentiary Service (SPB) produced 10,000 pastries for Children's Day celebrations in Olavarría. The products were delivered to the Municipality of Olavarría for distribution at Parque Helios Eseverri during an event organized by the Movimiento a la Alegría del Niño Olavarriense (MANO).

The initiative was managed by the Sierra Chica Industrial Pole with support from the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of the Province of Buenos Aires. Operating under a Social Volunteerism program, the project allowed inmates to contribute labor to community projects while receiving vocational training in bakery skills, such as kneading, baking, and decorating.

José Bahl, a member of the MANO organizing committee, noted the high quality and variety of the pastries, stating they were comparable to those from local bakeries.
