Sierra Leone and DR Congo prepare for AFCON qualifying matches
Sierra Leone and DR Congo are preparing for a two-legged encounter in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Sierra Leone coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa is expected to announce his squad for the upcoming fixtures, which include a match in Kinshasa on November 12 and a return fixture on November 17.
Due to venue arrangements, the second match will be held at Stade El Abdi in El Jadida, Morocco, rather than in Sierra Leone. Both teams are competing in Group E, which also includes Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea. DR Congo currently leads the group with six points, while Sierra Leone has yet to secure a point in the qualifying campaign.
The 2027 AFCON tournament, branded AFCON PAMOJA 2027, will be hosted jointly by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
