Sierra Leone Beauty Pageants Prepare for 2026 Competitions

Sierra Leone’s representative for Miss World 2026, Mariyam Lorba Konneh, has called on citizens, businesses and institutions to rally behind her as she prepares to compete on the international stage, emphasizing that she carries the nation’s hopes and pride.

In parallel, the Miss Freetown 2026 pageant recorded a record‑breaking 48 applicants, the highest turnout in its 20‑year history. After a screening process, 20 contestants were selected for auditions, with two deferred to accommodate their school examinations. Dr. Alhaji K. Tarawally, CEO of the LAKE Group of Companies, said, “Education first is not just a slogan—it is policy,” highlighting the organizers’ commitment to education. The finalists will be announced on 7 August 2026, and the grand pageant night is set for 28 November 2026 in Freetown.
