Sierra Leone First Lady launches Flot fintech platform

First Lady Fatima Maada Bio has officially launched Flot, a Sierra Leonean financial technology platform designed to expand access to modern digital finance and international services. Unveiled at the Country Lodge Hotel in Freetown, the platform aims to assist citizens with digital payments, international card services, and travel solutions.

Operated by the Freetown-based company Open Hubb SL Limited, Flot integrates digital wallets, business financial services, and travel booking. The platform supports transactions in both the Sierra Leonean leone and the US dollar, with some services accessible via WhatsApp. The initiative is intended to support Sierra Leoneans conducting business or traveling abroad by providing easier access to online banking and financial support systems.
