Sierra Leone Maritime Administration equips field officers with 15 motorbikes

The Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA) has distributed 15 motorbikes to Maritime Traffic Overseers, Regional Managers, and Dispatch Riders to enhance field operations and mobility across the country.

Executive Director Dr. Daniel B. Kaitibi stated that the vehicles are operational assets intended to assist officers in maritime monitoring, inspections, stakeholder engagement, and reporting. He emphasized the need for accountability and proper maintenance of the assets.

The initiative aims to address logistical challenges in reaching remote districts and hard-to-reach communities. Ibrahim Sorie Kamara, Regional Manager for Western Area Urban, noted that the motorbikes would reduce the costs and difficulties associated with conducting spot checks and field activities in isolated areas.
