Sierra Leone officials seek Saudi cooperation in youth and energy sectors

Sierra Leonean officials have engaged in high-level diplomatic talks with Saudi Arabian representatives to strengthen bilateral cooperation across several development sectors.

Minister of Youth Affairs Ibrahim Sannoh led a delegation to meet with Saudi Ambassador Saud Mushabbab Al-Musa’e. The discussions focused on youth development initiatives, including skills training, entrepreneurship support, education, and fostering people-to-people links to enhance employment opportunities for Sierra Leonean youth.

Separately, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohamed Rahman Swaray held meetings on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation conference in Jeddah. His discussions with Saudi officials centered on attracting investment in energy, agriculture, and infrastructure. The talks explored how Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification could create partnership opportunities, particularly regarding Sierra Leone’s pursuit of sustainable energy solutions to support industrial growth.
