Sierra Leone President Bio promotes senior military officers

President Julius Maada Bio, Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), has decorated several senior military officers following their promotion to the ranks of Major General and Brigadier General.

Brigadier General MM Kposowa was promoted to Major General, while twelve other officers were elevated to Brigadier General. The promotions were ratified by President Bio on 1 October 2026, following assessments by military authorities and the Number One Promotion Board.

During the ceremony, President Bio emphasized that the new ranks carry increased responsibilities and expectations. He urged the officers to maintain discipline, professionalism, integrity, and ethical leadership to justify the confidence placed in them.
