Sierra Leone security agencies conduct specialized training programs
Security and law enforcement agencies in Sierra Leone have conducted specialized training programs to enhance operational capacity and inter-agency coordination.
Seventy personnel from the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) completed a two-week intensive course at the Sierra Leone Peacekeeping and Law Enforcement Academy (SILEA) in Hastings. The training focused on threat identification, access control, perimeter security, and emergency response to ensure port operations meet national and international standards, including the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
Additionally, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) provided practical training to ten officers from the Sierra Leone Immigration Department (SLID) in Freetown. This session focused on the proper use of communication handsets to improve coordination and efficiency during field operations and patrols.
