Sierra Leone Tech4Good Innovation Challenge announces winners
The Africell Impact Foundation, in partnership with the Oxford University Africa Society and Fourah Bay College, has announced the winners of the 2026 Tech4Good Innovation Challenge. The initiative aims to foster technology-driven solutions to societal challenges and provide opportunities for young innovators in Sierra Leone.
Launched under the 2026 Innovation Seed Fund during the annual Oxford Africa Conference, the program allowed Fourah Bay College students and recent graduates to pitch technology-based proposals. From an initial group of ten students, three finalists were selected: Leon Lollyn Arnold Grovesnor, who was named the overall winner, along with finalists Michael Mahungbe Blango and Yeaniva Agnes Lansana.
Shadi Gerjawi, CEO of Africell Sierra Leone, stated that the next phase involves supporting the development and commercialization of these innovations to transform them into practical societal solutions. Plans are reportedly underway to organize a second edition of the challenge and expand the program to include other universities.
