Sierra Leone Vice President meets with police leadership on reforms
Sierra Leone Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh recently chaired a high-level meeting with the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Executive Management Board. The discussions focused on institutional governance, national security, and the progress of ongoing police reform initiatives aimed at enhancing professionalism and accountability within the force.
Separately, the Sierra Leone Police announced it will commemorate the United Nations International Day of Police Cooperation on September 7, 2026, in Freetown. Under the theme ‘Strengthening Partnership for Effective Policing and Safer Communities,’ the event highlights the importance of international cooperation in combating transnational crime and terrorism. This follows recent modernization efforts by the SLP, including a comprehensive review of the Police Act led by Inspector General William Fayia Sellu.
