Sierra Leone VP calls for policy coordination and welcomes church job initiatives

Sierra Leone Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has emphasized the necessity of improved policy coordination and implementation to ensure national strategies deliver tangible results for citizens. Speaking at a national symposium, Jalloh noted that the country’s challenges stem not from a lack of policies, but from fragmented actions across various ministries and agencies. He highlighted how a lack of coordination can lead to failures in critical sectors such as healthcare, citing unreliable electricity as a barrier to hospital operations.

In a separate development, Vice President Jalloh welcomed initiatives from the Latter-day Saints Church designed to expand education and employment opportunities for Sierra Leonean youth. The church plans to establish a Global Education Centre and implement the ‘Succeed in School’ programme to provide digital skills and practical training. Jalloh expressed the government's support for these efforts, noting that such partnerships are vital for developing a productive and responsible generation of citizens.
