SiFive launches BigSky RISC-V server development platform

SiFive has launched BigSky SF, a RISC-V based 2U enterprise server development platform designed for hyperscalers, chipmakers, and software vendors. The platform aims to help engineering teams port enterprise code, profile workloads, and validate custom silicon designs.

The hardware features 32 SiFive P870-D cores operating at 2GHz, 256GB of DDR5-5600 memory, a 3.84TB U.2 NVMe drive, and 10/25Gbps OCP 3.0 networking. It includes 64 total lanes of PCIe Gen 5 x16 expansion to accommodate double-wide GPUs and specialized hardware accelerators. The system is fully compliant with the RVA23 standard.

To address software compatibility, BigSky provides out-of-the-box support for enterprise operating systems, including Canonical Ubuntu 26.04 LTS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 (RHEL 10). The platform is currently available in limited quantities to support strategic development opportunities.
