Professor Sigbrit Swahn has passed away in Malmö at the age of 92. Born in Tartu in 1933, she was the daughter of academics Per and Greta Wieselgren.

Swahn held a professorship in Romance languages at Uppsala University. Her academic career included two doctoral dissertations, one focusing on Georg Stiernhielm and another on Marcel Proust. Her final book was a study titled ‘Franska intellektuella i tid och otid’. She is survived by her sons Raoul, Ragnar, and Jan Henrik.
