Sigenergy has launched the SigenCube, a 401 kWh all-in-one battery energy storage system designed for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. The modular unit integrates power conversion, energy management, and batteries into a single cabinet and can be scaled up to more than 4 MWh by connecting up to 100 units in parallel. The release follows the Australian federal government's expansion of the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), which increased the maximum solar system capacity covered under the mechanism from 100 kW to 1 MW.

In the residential sector, SAJ Electric has introduced its EK70 HS5 and EK90 HS5 battery systems, which are the first products to receive certification under Australia's new SA TS 5398 safety standard. The EK70 HS5 is an all-in-one home energy system featuring modular battery blocks, while the premium EK90 HS5 includes 12,000-cycle cells and AI-driven management.

These developments coincide with significant growth in the Australian energy market. According to the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), nearly 250,000 grid-connected distributed battery systems were operating in the National Electricity Market at the end of the 2023-24 financial year.
