Religious festivals and traditional processions held across various regions
Various religious and traditional festivals are being celebrated across different regions. In El Tigre, the descent of the image of the Virgen del Valle marked the official start of the 2026 Patronal Festivities, with over 500 faithful attending the solemn Eucharist.
In Loja, Ecuador, preparations are underway for the arrival of the Virgen del Cisne, a tradition linked to historical accounts of Simón Bolívar visiting the image in 1822.
In Spain, multiple local festivities are taking place: the Huerta de Arriba celebrations concluded with a procession for Santo Domingo de Guzmán; the Colonia Valenciana de Veraneantes in Navajas held festivities for the Virgen de los Desamparados; Sigüenza honored San Roque with traditional processions; and Carboneras celebrated the Virgen del Carmen with a maritime procession. Additionally, Rute held a major procession for the Virgen del Carmen, and San Roque is preparing for the Feria de la Estación.
In La Nucía, the Festes d’Agost featured a large costume parade involving 22 local groups.
