Sigfrido Ranucci disputes reports on brother's role in Antimafia Commission

Investigative journalist Sigfrido Ranucci has publicly contested a report by Il Tempo regarding his brother, Daniele Ranucci, a member of the Guardia di Finanza.

According to the reports, while Sigfrido Ranucci conducted investigations into organized crime and state apparatuses, Daniele Ranucci served for over ten years within the highly confidential archive of the parliamentary Antimafia Commission at Palazzo San Macuto. Documentation shows Daniele was one of four selected military officers assigned to manage and maintain the Commission's sensitive records, including judicial acts and hearing minutes, across multiple legislative terms.

Sigfrido Ranucci expressed anger on social media, accusing the publication of spreading falsehoods and stating he felt compelled to defend his brother's dignity. Daniele Capezzone, the director of Il Tempo, responded by defending the substance of the report and suggesting the journalist was losing clarity. Separately, legal proceedings continue regarding a bomb incident at Sigfrido Ranucci's home in Pomezia, involving suspects linked to Valter Lavitola.
