Sigma expands Aizu large-format cinema lens series

Sigma has expanded its Aizu large-format cinema prime lens series with the addition of three new focal lengths: 21mm, 100mm, and 125mm. These new additions join the eight previously released lenses, bringing the total lineup to 11 focal lengths.

The Aizu series is characterized by a consistent T1.3 aperture across the entire range, which Sigma claims is a first for large-format cinema lenses. The lenses feature a 46.3mm image circle, making them compatible with Super 35, full-frame, and large-format sensors such as VistaVision and ARRI ALEXA LF Open Gate.

Designed for cinema applications, the lenses aim to provide a balance of modern sharpness with an organic, natural look. They are engineered to minimize focus breathing and distortion while maintaining consistent color, contrast, and flare characteristics. The lenses are available in both ARRI PL and Sony E mounts and include support for ZEISS eXtended Data to provide real-time metadata for VFX workflows.
