Sigma vehicle dealership closed in São Luís over fraud allegations
The Sigma vehicle dealership in the Cohajap neighborhood of São Luís has been closed by Procon-MA during the ‘Crédito Negado’ operation. The establishment is under investigation for irregularities in automobile negotiations, with reported consumer losses potentially reaching R$ 40,000.
According to consumer complaints, customers would select vehicles and perform test drives, only to be told that the cars required a revision before delivery. Despite these negotiations, the vehicles were never provided. One specific allegation suggests that a single vehicle may have been negotiated with three different clients.
Investigators also noted discrepancies in the contracts used by the company. While customers intended to purchase vehicles directly, the documents provided specified business intermediation rather than direct sales. Authorities are currently analyzing the transactions to determine responsibilities and the full extent of the financial damage.
