Signal Festival expands to Dejvice with 21 digital art installations
The Signal Festival returns this October from the 15th to the 18th, expanding its reach to include the Dejvice district for the first time in years. Under the theme 'Dream On! Dreams and Visions', the festival will feature 21 installations combining digital art, technology, and architecture.
Key highlights include a video mapping at the Old Town Hall by Ukrainian artist Svitlana Reinish, inspired by Václav Havel’s essay 'The Power of the Powerless'. In Dejvice, German artist Felix Frank will present 'Missing Interval' at the Archbishop's Seminary, while American artist Jim Campbell will showcase 'Scattered Light', an installation using 1,500 LEDs to create human figures.
The festival also incorporates industrial and academic spaces. The Old Wastewater Treatment Plant in Bubeneč will host a site-specific performance by the Laterna magika ensemble. Additionally, a 'Student Visions' zone will feature technical and artistic projects from students at CTU (ČVUT) and UCT (VŠCHT), including chemical shows and interactive digital works.
