Signal Veil announced as 90s anime-style survival horror

Serafini Productions and Time Hunters have announced Signal Veil, a third-person survival horror game featuring a 90s anime aesthetic. The game is planned for release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Players control Aki Mizuno, a student investigating Nishikawa High School following her mother's disappearance. The central gameplay mechanic revolves around a mysterious inherited mobile phone that acts as a tool to detect, stun, and reveal supernatural entities that are otherwise invisible to humans. Players must use the phone's flash to expose spirits and engage in a spiritual purge process to banish them.

The experience emphasizes psychological horror and resource management. As Aki's mental stability declines due to encounters with spirits born from psychological trauma, the school environment shifts and becomes more distorted. Gameplay focuses on observation and strategic planning rather than pure firepower, as ammunition and medical supplies are limited.
