Signify expands Philips Hue ecosystem with AI and new hardware at IFA 2026

At IFA 2026, Signify announced significant hardware and software expansions for the Philips Hue smart lighting ecosystem. The company is integrating generative AI to enhance home automation, allowing users to create complex routines through a chatbot-style AI assistant. This feature, termed ‘custom AI actions,’ is expected to arrive in October 2026 as a free update for the Philips Hue Bridge Pro.

On the hardware front, Signify introduced several new lighting products designed for both aesthetics and immersive entertainment. New additions include the ‘Liane 360°,’ a flexible, rope-like light capable of various shapes, and new models in the ‘Signe’ series, such as the Signe Pendant, Signe Pole, and Signe Pendulum. The ‘Festavia’ series will also expand with net-style and curtain lights.

Strategic partnerships were also highlighted, with the ecosystem becoming more open through collaborations with brands like Nanoleaf and Sonos to improve synchronized entertainment experiences across more devices.
