Signify expands Philips Hue ecosystem with Sonos integration and new lighting
Signify is reportedly expanding the Philips Hue ecosystem through new hardware and software integrations. Leaked information suggests a new feature called ‘Sonos Accessory Control’ will allow users to manage Sonos speakers directly via the Philips Hue Bridge and Hue remote controls. This integration would enable local processing for faster response times and allow music playback actions, such as volume adjustment and track skipping, to be included in Hue lighting scenes and automations.
Additionally, a new lighting product, the Philips Hue Liane 360, has been revealed. This flexible, circular light tube uses OmniGlow technology and RGBICW-LEDs to provide multi-colored gradients and white tones ranging from 1,000 to 20,000 Kelvin. The product is expected to be available in 3-meter and 5-meter versions, with the 3-meter model potentially offering a weighted version for vertical ceiling mounting.
