Signify reports improved margins despite market weakness

Signify reported third-quarter revenue of 1.37 billion euros, meeting analyst expectations despite a 3.4 percent decline on a comparable basis. The company saw an increase in adjusted EBITA, which rose 6.1 percent year-on-year to 145 million euros, resulting in a 10.6 percent margin.

This profitability boost was partially driven by the return of 28 million euros in previously paid American import duties. CEO As Tempelman attributed the improved margins to a disciplined pricing policy and strict cost management, noting that a cost-saving program has already delivered 37 million euros in savings.

While the professional segment saw a 1.5 percent revenue decline, the consumer segment experienced a sharper drop of 5.3 percent. Revenue from conventional lighting, including incandescent and fluorescent lamps, fell by 12.2 percent.
