Signo Forum and UMSA promote cultural and linguistic exchange

The 4th edition of the Signo Forum will be held from November 6 to 8 at the Convento de San Francisco de Santo Domingo de Silos. This event focuses on the professionalization of sign language interpreters specializing in musical and cultural settings. The program includes training sessions on integrating sign language into performances, literary resources for adaptation, and the use of Visual Vernacular in songs.

Additionally, the forum will host roundtables regarding linguistic consultancy and the music industry to improve accessibility for deaf audiences in leisure and entertainment sectors.

Separately, the Higher University of San Martín (UMSA) organized a cultural exchange meeting between local and international students. Led by the Department of International Relations and the Simultaneous Interpretation Chair, the initiative aims to strengthen intercultural competencies and professional tools for conference interpreter students through direct contact with diverse languages and cultures.
