Siheung Art Center to open as city's first professional performing arts venue

Siheung City has announced the opening of the Siheung Art Center, the city’s first professional performing arts venue. The facility, which began construction in 2018, features a 710-seat grand hall, a 304-seat small hall, exhibition rooms, practice rooms, and a cafe.

To prepare for the official opening on November 13, the center will host six pilot performances from October 30 to October 31, including piano and violin recitals, musical concerts, and orchestra performances. The opening ceremony will feature an ‘Open Stage Tour’ for citizens and a signature performance combining humanoid robots with the b-boy team Jinjo Crew.

The opening festival will continue through the end of the year. Highlights include a piano performance by Lim Yun-chan on November 28 and a large-scale production of Verdi’s opera ‘La Traviata’ by the Korea National Opera on December 11 and 12. Additionally, a media art exhibition titled ‘Master’s Palette, Meeting Light’ will run from November 13 to December 29.
